A Vegetarian Domain?
I just looked at the store list of the recently opened "The Domain" upscale mall. It's fairly near my house, but I think it's a bit more high-end than my usual haunts. Will it have any veg-appropriate dining?
Here's my quick judgment call, based on about twenty minutes of web research.
The Good:
California Pizza Kitchen - several veggie pizzas and salads, vegetarian pea soup
NoRTH - modern Italian with a fair number of veg items
The Steeping Room - fancy tea house
The Bad:
Daily Grill - grilled veggie plate, some pastas, some salads
Jasper's - some salads and sides might work
Kona Grill - cheese pizza, salads, and appetizers
The Ugly:
Fleming's Prime Steakhouse - fancy steaks
Joe DiMaggio's Italian Chophouse - more fancy steaks
McCormick & Schmick's - fancy seafood
I was surprised how similar and unadventurous the eating was here. Only one place with any Asian flare, multiple steakhouses and Italian joints. I'm thinking that this little chunk of Dallas/Houston couture won't be on my frequent visit list.

And I bet we'd have to dress up. No thanks.
The Steeping Room is locally owned and vegan/vegetarian friendly. It serves a large variety of teas (many organic) as well as soups, salads, and small plates. Yesterday we had a wonderful vegan carrot ginger soup. Please do not dismiss us or categorize us with Kona Grill and the like.
thanks
Just an update, in case you missed the other article -- I did go to the Steeping Room, and it was quite nice with a number of veggie options. I appreciate the comment here.
