Satellite Cafe Shoutout, Swad Review
Earlier this week, I got a recommendation from Jen of Chow Baby! to try out the Flip's Satellite Cafe down in Oak Hill. It's a cafe offshoot of the Flipnotics coffee shop on Barton Springs, and it's got a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The Austin Chronicle gave it a thumbs up last fall; I don't get down that way too often, but I'll definitely go the next time I'm in the area.
(By the way, the Chow Baby tempeh tacos delivered this Wednesday were muy excellente!)
Also worth noting: AroundAustin.com has a review of Swad, the tasty South Indian restaurant on north Lamar. I was just there last Sunday and got totally filled up on the thali and masala dosa. Good stuff.

Satellite Cafe is just a few miles from where I live and I have been there a couple of times. I found the portions to be a little small for the price.
I find the place to be a great change from your typical eating experience. The staff makes it feel like I'm being served by friends and not random UT kids looking for extra cash. The vegetarian options are amazing and the produce is always fresh and first class. One of my favorite places to stop down south.
