I've now had two lunches at the recently opened Which Wich shop on Parmer Lane, and I can give it a warm recommendation for my fellow vegetarians. The place is very high concept. When you enter, you pick a brown paper bag from holders on the wall, then fill in the side of the bag like a standardized test, choosing all the toppings you want. Bag #6 is the "Vegetarian" bag, giving five base configurations (at least at this location):
- Triple Cheese Melt
- Elvis Wich (PB, Honey, & Banana)
- Tomato & Avocado
- Black Bean Patty
- Hummus & Bell Peppers
In addition to the "veggie" bag, there were choices of egg salad sandwiches and egg & veggie breakfast sandwiches on other bags.
You then get to choose white or wheat bread, one of five cheeses, and your choice of mustards, mayo, spreads, onions, other veggies, and seasonings. You write your name at the bottom of the bag, hand it to the cashier, and about ten minutes later, you've got a toasted sandwich made to your specifications. As long as you don't select any of the extras at the bottom of the bag, your sandwich is $4, which seems quite reasonable.
Chips, drink, cookies, and shakes round out the menu. They make their own salt & pepper kettle chips at the store, and the shakes are also hand-made. The interior reminded me of the Chipotle chain, with lots of metal and soft pine. Drinks were a little disappointing, with Lipton tea instead of freshly brewed beverages. They also don't have nutritional information on their website yet, so I wasn't able to tell what, if anything, was vegan.

I had the black bean patty with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. Yum!
eh, better to go around the corner and stop by Kismet. thundercloud also has better subs IMO.
I do love Thundercloud, especially their hummus sub. However, I do think this place is a nice alternative and they've got a fun ordering style.
Kismet is down by UT, right? I don't get down there very much, but I'll have to try it out. All of my WW visits have been to the Parmer location.
