SXSW Update: Lunches Ahoy!

sign on Koriente deckI'm now in my fourth day of SXSW, and I've had a chance to visit some of the places that have been recommended here, so I can give a few updates.

First, the Chipolte at 9th and Congress is only open from 11AM to 5PM on weekdays. That's lame; I think they'd get a bit of evening traffic, especially during the fest.

Now, on to the food:

Spicy Bleu Garden Burger with fried at the Alamo on Friday. Good but boring. It feels like the Drafthouse has raised prices on many items.

Bibimbap with Tofu at Koriente. My Saturday lunch came with really good spicy sauce and was quite yummy. The peppermint fruit tea with bubbles was a great compliment.

Sunday was a late lunch at Casino el Camino, based on a reader suggestion. I didn't get the eggplant sandwich (The Blackjack) but instead went for the Politically Correct, a sprout and avocado sandwich on a multigrain bun with pickles, mayo, and poblano peppers. I really liked it, but I was thrown at first by the method of ordering (go to the kitchen window and pay there, then wait).

Today, I had lunch at Alamo South Lamar, their buffalo tofu salad. Each time I get it, the kitchen does it a bit different. Today, it was six tofu triangles, grilled and coated in buffalo sauce. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough sauce in the salad itself, but it was still enjoyable.
