Both Kinds of Burgers

I finally got up to the new Red Robin at IH35 and Parmer Lane yesterday for lunch, and while the place isn't vegetarian-oriented, they do make a good effort to accommodate us. All of their burgers are available with either Gardenburger or Boca patties; finally someone recognizes that not all veggie burgers are the same! Also, while many of the standard toppings have bacon, they gladly handle special requests and can leave that off.

I tried their Five-Alarm Burger with the Boca patty. This is a spicy item, featuring salsa, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and chipotle mayo. It was pretty tasty and quite a mouthful. It came with vegetable-oil-cooked steak fries that were nice and crispy on the outside. Free refills of the fries are available for the extra hungry.

It was a reasonable price, and I'll certainly return sometime in the future when I want a good Gardenburger. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of seating for a late lunch.

are the veggie burgers grilled on a surface and with tools that are never used with meat products?

I didn't ask. However, the staff and management was quite friendly, so I'm sure they would be able to prepare the patties in some way to avoid contamination if you asked; Boca patties tend to do pretty well in the microwave in my experience.
