General Tso's Tofu

Firebowl Cafe is a locally owned chain of Asian restaurants that serve a variety of dishes from Chinese, Thai, and Japanese traditions. They recently redid their menu to identify what items can be prepared vegetarian, and on my recent visit, I noticed that General Tso's Chicken was one of the choices. So, I ordered General Tso's Tofu on brown rice, and I got a very tasty, spicy bowl of fried tofu chunks and broccoli.

I was surprised to find a few of their rice bowl sauces weren't vegetarian. However, several of their "meaty" combinations are vegetarian after tofu-replacement. They offer both soft and fried tofu, and they also have some nice side dishes like edamame. As of this writing, their online menu hasn't been updated with the green leaf markers, but the menu at their locations has these now. It's always good to see a local place make a point of supporting veggie eaters, so a big thank you is in order for Firebowl.
