Halloween Shout Outs

It's Halloween, and even if you're not going to dress up as a cube of tofu, you can have some veggie fun today. First, there's Scott Bateman's Zombie Girl flash animations featuring the problems of a PETA-loving vegetarian zombie. Here's part 1 and part 2.

Then, if you're going trick-or-treating, you'll want to refer to the PETA guide to vegetarian candy before digging into your goodie bag. A lot of common candy has gelatin in it, and the little individual piece wrappers don't usually list ingredients.

Finally if you want a truly scary and delicious dish, I can recommend the Tomato Pie at Kerbey Lane Cafe. It's on their seasonal menu, and it's got layers of fresh tomato, green onion, and feta cheese, all baked into a good gooey mess. Kerbey Lane recently rewrote their menu, making it easier to read, adding more specials, and putting everything online.
