Shui Your Opinion

| | Comments (1)

I've been going to Food Shui ever since it opened last July, and I've consistently liked their approach to the standard rice and tofu bowl, so I'm glad I've finally written a review. If you live in north Austin, you should make an effort to try them out.

I won't be posting much here over the next week as I'm heading back to California for business again. However, I do have some leads. I just returned to Chez Zee (just around the corner from 2222 and Mopac) last night and had an excellent portabella mushroom sandwich; combined with a trip there for lunch earlier in the month, I think I'm about ready to post the review. I've also been to Masala Wok (north of Parmer Lane on the IH35 access road) several times now, and I've found their combination of Indian and Chinese cooking styles to be tasty and fun.

I can't believe Pei Wei is not listed. Can it be added?!?

Pei Wei has what I have found to be the best tofu in town. While not all of the tofu options are vegetarian (for some crazy reason), the ones that are are amazing! The menu indicates which options are vegetarian so pay close attention. The tofu is very firm and thinly sliced giving it almost a meaty texture. All of the meals are offered with brown or white rice. Try the teriyaki bowl or the honey seared tofu. You won't be disappointed.
