Alamo Curry House?

| | Comments (0)

Last night, I really enjoyed the Austin Film Society presentation of "Swades", part of their Recent Indian Cinema series. One of the best parts of the evening was the special menu that the Alamo Drafthouse Village served. Their chef is trying out a series of Indian dishes with different meals served for each of the screenings. Last night's vegetarian selection was saag paneer, Indian fried cheese served on a bed of rice and spicy creamed spinach, along with a side of bread and mint yogurt sauce. It was quite yummy, and a lot better than the usual saag paneer that you get from an Indian lunch buffet. If you've got any interest in "Bollywood" cinema, this series is a great way to see some recent work on the big screen and to try out some of the great food from the Indian subcontinent.
