Pizza Nizza
2712 Bee Caves Rd., Austin, 512-474-7470
In late 1998, this Barton Springs pizza place changed their format, going to a counter-ordering, slice-service model, allowing them to serve more people and lower their prices. Their pizza is one of the best in the city, with a choice of three base sauces (favorite: the spicy caliente) and lots of normal and deluxe toppings. You can get a giant slice and a garden salad for $5, or upgrade that to a greek salad with feta cheese for an additonal dollar. Their slices tend to have less cheese than other places, but the toppings are ample. I usually go for a combination of grilled onions, jalepenos, and garlic, unless I have to meet someone later. ($7)
Update (25 Mar 2005): Pizza Nizza moved to Bee Caves last year, moving into the shopping center with Bistro 88.
