La Salsa

La Salsa has two Austin locations, one in the Village shopping center at 2244 and 360, and another a block down from the post office on Far West. The concept behind this place is simple: make fast, healthy Mexican food and provide a variety of tasty salsas to go with it. The execution is pretty good: my current favorite is their veggie taco combo, which provides two tacos with black beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and avacado, with two extra corn tortillas, a plate of black beans and rice, and a salad for under six bucks. They offer both a plain bean and cheese burrito and their California burrito which adds avocodo. The salsas all are great, with five different ones available on my last visit. Service is also quite fast; after your order, you pick up a small cup of nacho chips, go get your drinks and salsa, and then wait a few minutes for your order to be brought to your table. Well done!
