Austin Wok 'n' Roll

5119 Burnet Rd, Austin, 78756, 512-451-2345

Located on Burnet Road, near the intersection of North Loop, this small restaurant serves Hong Kong style street food along with more Americanized Chinese dishes. Most of the dishes can be made with tofu on request for no extra charge. I especially like the kung pao tofu, which is spicy and salty. Beware the soups -- the hot and sour is made with chicken broth, leaving only the egg drop soup which isn't the best. Try to get them to substitute their pickled cucumbers for the soup, and don't miss the veggie egg roll. Lunch and dinner are comparable, with dinner being a couple of dollars more expensive, but coming with more rice and a larger portion. ($4-8)
